Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is the most populated of the eastern provinces and is home to the regional capital Halifax which, I think, is one of the best cities in Canada.  They have great restaurants, a colourful history, and a busy nightlife with plenty of live bands.

Things to See and Do

Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to visit Cape Breton Island which is meant to be one of the most scenic areas.  But we did drive to Peggy's Cove which was quite an amazing place!  Overall, we did the following things:

- drove from the Confederation Bridge to Halifax
- visited the Halifax fort, the harbour waterfront, the university
- plundered the mussel bar and devoured an enormous lobster at one of the most popular seafood restaurants in town (Five Fishermen)
- visited Peggy's Cove and saw the memorial that was built for the Swiss Air flight which crashed near there
- drove across the province to Digby, where we caught the ferry to St. John
